I picked up a set of Z-5000 logitechs for 135quid in a recent sale - personally I think i'd struggle to touch them with anything else at that price point. I have separates (NAD/B&W) and a 5.1 (Yamaha/JBL) setup downstairs for films. It surprises me how little use my separates (for music) and i'm not interested in watch films on my PC - the logitechs cover me for gaming and music extremely well. And i'm fussy - very fussy. I've had audiophile gear for twenty years or so - such things are unbelievably subjective and unfathomably expensive in part. Go with whatever makes you happy whilst still having money to feed yourself and yours.
In my experience, most people listening to music on my kit are very impressed by the sound - compromises or not - and I do generally like logitech speakers. I'm sure a set of four B&W nautilus speakers and a rare metal based amp would be life changing but..
