Wireless keyboard and mouse that's good for day-to-day use and gaming, cheap-ish?

    As title really.
To continue my barrage of pc building questions I now need a decent keyboard and mouse.
In all honesty I was just going to bung the cheapest bundle on my new build, but considering I'm probably just going to focus on PC gaming primarily, a fairly decent set of keys and a couple of good click-a-buttons wouldn't go amiss

I've looked at the Razer mouses (meeses!?) and they are a tad pricey for my budget despite glowing reviews!

In all reality I need a wireless setup and would like, ideally, to get keyboard and mouse for £50. Although it would need to be pretty decent for gaming and the keyboard will be getting a lot of use, both typing (as I am a writer!) and for graphics work. So...any recommendations?

    Thanks, as ever

Get a wired mouse for gaming.

Unfortunately it needs to be wireless as my rig will be set up on a 42" LCD and didn't really want any wires trailing along the floor. I guess I could do wired, but the mouse would need over a 6 feet wire - is this possible?

The lag is going to the main issue with a wireless mouse. If you are playing an FPS game this will be more of an issue. I used to use wireless gaming mice myself but I found the wired ones much better.

Ok cheers - I'm having a nose through the Hexus September build to see what my options may be.

I am updating it for October soon although peripherals should stay the same. AFAIK,wireless gaming mice do exist but are not cheap.

Yeah I've seen the lovely looking Razer's, but as I've said on my first post they're a bit above my budget at the mo!

    Have you seen this?

EDIT: Actually, it looks like you can get these cheaper from Amazon at the moment.

If you're looking into cheap wired gaming mice then I'd have a look at the Razer Abyssus and the Razer Imperator.

Also, Roccat are making some really nice gaming peripherals at the minute. Including a wireless gaming mouse IIRC.

I have the Logitech K300 and love it but I would not recommend it for heavy use due to the lack of wrist rest (The K340 is exactly the same layout only wireless). That mouse looks good though, probably better than your average wireless mouse.

I would recommend this though: http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/keyboa...s/devices/6541

Got that set at work and it is very comfortable to use. Mouse may not be suited to gaming specifically but it should work just fine tbh.

Otherwise getting the keyboard and mouse separately I would go for this: http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/keyboa...d/devices/5994
    and this:
    http://www.logitech.com/en-gb/mice-p...e/devices/6811

As mentioned above you should search for them from other stores, Logitech online store is expensive.

Cheers for the advice lads - I've had a few recommendations for various Logitechs so may be my best bet. I'd like to go for wireless if poss - actually scratch that, it may be a necessity! I'm a writer by trade so a comfortable keyboard for general use would be most welcome!
Cheers again, just browsing the links now thanks

    Razer Imperator
Any idea how long the wire is on these?

All I can say is whatever you do stay away from microsoft wireless keyboards.

They are totally useless for gaming, mine frequently continues moving to one side after I let go of the side movement key so I have to release all keys to get it to go back to normal

I got the Laser Desktop 5000 model

The laser mouse is great it's just the keyboard that is useless so I have a usb keyboard and wireless mouse.

Logitechs are IMO the best but were way out of my budget at the time.

If money were not an issue I would have a G500 mouse (I prefere the G700 but I am left handed so the shape is all wrong for me) and a G510 keyboard
