    Building a Mini ITX machine

I'm hoping to build a small machine that I will be able to watch DVD's and maybe play some music on. I've been looking at the new VIA MII6000E board and it looks like what I want. I am hoping on fitting it with out a hard drive and use a Pen Drive to boot a distro of Linux off (haven't decided yet, look at my other thread ) and i'm gonna have a 1gb CF card in the card reader as extra space. I belive you cannot boot from the new Card Reader so I would use the Pen drive?
Now the VIA MII 6000E mainboard only has a 633MHz processor, would you say that is powerful enough to watch DVD's and listen to Music on? I will probably be using a DVD Rom drive to play the DVD so think it could hack it?
Cheers in advance for your help

I would stick at least 512mb of memory in it as the performance would be much better

It shouldnt have any problems running films and music

    Alright, cheers Gordy

As i'm building a Hard Drive less machine do you think I should get a CF card to store music and other stuff on. I can get a 1gb for £70, think it's worth it?

Should be ok to watch dvd's on that spec cpu, but why don't you go for a faster, say 1 ghz cpu - that should give you a bit more future proofing as software dvd players keep on hogging more cpu as they get more revisions?
Old puter - still good enuff till I save some pennies!
