Will american phone (P900) work in UK with new uk SIM ?

Would a P900 work in the UK with one of the uk operators sim cards?
Assume that it is unlocked.

I have been told this works perfectly fine, infact a friend at work apparently has a US imported one. The one thing of course to watch out for is the charger, just make you either get a UK spec one, or the correct adaptors etc.
