    try upping the Vcore voltage, i have mine at 1.75atm to achive 200x11.5 with my athlon2800+; I can push that to 12x200 if i up the volatage even more. In the current heat tho i wont do that as i dont like my CPU running above 40 degrees ;/

    upping the vcore *should* make it more stable

    ok here we go

    cpu running at 166fsb

    ram running at spd 200

    prime still running stable and temps ok

    everything is exactley the same set up but with the only difference being cpu fsb not at 200 at which prime has usually crapped out 20 minutes ago with error

    ??????????? cpu maybe feels poorly lol

    if there were 100 100pound notes in a bag and one fiver i would bet i would get the fiver everytime lol always happens to me lol

    With Duel DDR boards you have different Speeds for the different components.

    I.e

    Processor = 1.83Ghz
    FSB = 333Mhz
    Memory channel = 400Mhz
    Thats just how the chipset and FSB works - its nothing to do with Duel Channel boards.

      • Motherboard:
      • Gigabyte G1.Sniper (with daft heatsinks and annoying Killer NIC)
      • CPU:
      • Xeon X5670 (6 core LGA 1366) @ 4.4GHz
      • Memory:
      • 48GB DDR3 1600 (6 * 8GB)

    Some things to try:

    Set the CPU interface to aggressive in the BIOS (helped my XP1700+ get past 200MHz FSB - at lower than 200MHz it seems to make my system LESS stable )

    Pin mod (wire wrap) the FSB sense pins on the bottom of the chip to force the FSB to 200MHz (you can either wrap the pins or use 'U' shaped hoops in the socket holes)... nforcershq.com's forums have the details IIRC... LMK if you can't find it and I'll have a look.

    Add some cooling to the southbridge (a passive heatsink will do) or upgrade the northbridge cooling

    remember noooob here lol cant afford to save for another 2 months for a new processer at least i know its the cpu and can look around for a mobile cheap and then sell this which wont make much of a whole in me pocket

    Ok... I haven't seen it before in a standard board or my Socket A athlon mobo. Mind it is a SDram board thats running a 1Ghz chip at 1.333Ghz

    bigjonnyauk I think you would be better off running it to the highest stable speed or leave it at stock. It doesn't look like the chip is a 3200+ thats been down rated.

    Overclocking is all very will but if you cant afford to fry your chip.....

    Well all I will say is that its not worth it.
