What AMD?

Hi

the time has come to replace my aging 1700+, I can only clock it to 1.8 now (used to get it up to 2.2 =( ) Anyway, i have around 80 quid to spend on a new CPU, what would you recomend for value for money and OC potential (I have 512Mb of 3200 RAM)

I think that Mobile Barton 2400+ runs at only 1.35V, so that leaves even more room for overlocking than the 2500+. Although pretty much any Mobile Athlon is supposed to overclock amazingly well.

What sort of clocks am I likly to get out of these? I want as much as possible for as little as possible. lol. I got a pretty good cooling setup (6 cans fans 4 in, 2 out,exaushst and PSU out too) and after about 3 days of constant 100% load (SETI) wityh all fans on low my temps are about 52CPU and 54/55 Case, I can get that to drop to around 42/44 so temp isnt a problem. I would idealy like around 2.2+ghz witohut huge strain...

On a Mobile you should get 2.4GHz without much problem if the rest of your gear is up to it. (mine does 2.7GHz on air )

Yep, a good mobile will do 2.2 at 1.55V
Pretty much all of them will go past 2.5 on decent air.

most mobile bartons average about 2.5GHz on air cooling. I'd say get it. Its worth the upgrade
