    Silent PSU

I looking too purchase a silent psu. Needs too be around 400 watt. Budget is £90. Quietest i've found is the silentx 400 watt at <14dB. Think that is pritty hard too hear. Anyone know of anything quieter???

Silenx are meant to be the best i think. Globalwin have some pretty quiet ones, but not sure if they are under £100. Ive also heard of some completely passive PSU but have only heard of them.

Yeh ive seen the totally passive one its made in germany and is about £150. Bit steep. Think i'm prbably gonna go with the silent x unless anyone knows of anything quieter.

If the Scan PSU (CWT) are anything like my antec, then i wouldnt say its quiet. Ive got 5 fans in my case, the the antec is just a little bit louder then all of them. The passive 300W look alright, but i think the price is a bit steep - man, why does silence have to come so expensive?

I dunno to be honest, silence is charged at a premium nowadays. saying that I don't bother how loud etc my PC will be as in the end of the day a quick turn of the volume dial on a set of 7.1 speakers and you'll never hear the PSU/CPU/HDD ever again, and while I'm gaming the funky headsets on so that usually stops noises coming into my ears as well

Regarding the CWT - as its auto controlled by the system, again it depends on system configuration. If you have a fairly cool PC with a good airflow and low temps then the PSU will not spin its fans as fast and therefore cut down on noise.
