Mate just add me to your MSN and ask anytime. I have exactly the same setup.
The Aero7+ should be absolutely fine. Would probably be ok up to 2.4 tbh

Just had a bash at overclocking the FSB on my current 2500 and i got into windows everything was fine went to open paint and i got a blue screen telling me windows had been shut down to prevent damage and i now come into windows after returing the setting to find this:

TrueVector engine: File "C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\RICHMAN-2004.ldb" was corrupt and has been copied to "C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\xDB2.tmp". File "C:\WINDOWS\Internet Logs\RICHMAN-2004.ldb" was corrupt and has been deleted.
I dont know why it does this or how i can stop it but iam not sure if it had anything to do with my overclocking the 2500 barton to 3200 (200FSB)

You got zone alarm running ?

cos if so TrueVector is the name of the service for zonealarm

might need to raise the voltage of the ram a bit say 2.7/2.8v to be ont he safe side

Yep Zone Alarm is running would that error have been caused by me upping the FSB to 200? i think i will get some more advice of you ppl before i do anymore becuase i can afford to loose this chip by frying it atm .

The Chip iam trying to change is a 2500xp+ Barton and it is locked so i can olny change the FSB but as i have never used Soft Menu III before iam kind of lost.

Some advice or tips from you guys would be really really good.

In the same menu where you changed the cpu fsb

set the agp to 66 to start with

at the bottom theres the options for voltage, you need to change the default to user specific

i would then whack the cpu voltage up a touch and whack the cpu and vdd voltage up a touch and try again

i've just brought a shuttle sn45g which comes with a xp-m 2500+ and 512mb pc3200(geil(SP?)) ram, just wondering if i would beable to get this up to 3200+ speeds without any heating problems in the shuttle?
or even better could i get it to say 2.4 or 2.5gig without any heat problems?
    thanks

Richman - I'm just about to upgrade from an old (unlocked) Barton XP2500 to a Mobile XP2400.

The older Barton does 2280MHz but not a jot more. Newer Bartons will get 2300~2400MHz whereas the mobile should get up to 2400~2600MHz.

So let alone advising you to get the mobile CPU, I'm planning on changing from the standard Barton to the mobile one - So it is definately the one to get.
