    Speaker Mix N Match

Hey guys, i have 2 sets of surround speakers, 1 needs to go onto my dvd player, and one for pc. One set is the Edifier R501T, currently on dvd player, and the other is a TCM Dolby Surround System.

I currently have the TCM connected to my pc properly and am getting absolutely nothing from the woofer so sounds pretty duff.

However the edifier system seems to be coping very well on the dvd player, producing lots of bass when needed. So i was wondering if i could swap the satellite speakers, would this damage them with other branded subwoofers, or would it work properly?

Also the woofer on my pc is doing nowt, and its 20W, so im thinking maybe its only designed to woof on a dvd player connection, or maybe my aureon 5.1 fun is on its way to the scrap heap, as of late the bass has been crud even on the edifiers. So guys, any opinions, or do u think the TCM would b better on the dvd setup?

As long as they are rated at the same impedance then its ok. But the crossover point between low and mid range freqs will likely not be the same and so you will probably either get a boost in volume at the crossover freq or a decrease.
