Any Xigmatek s1283 CPU cooler owners around?

This will be a bit of a long shot but as above. Well to be more precise any other Xigmatek s1283 owners around who are using it with a socket 1156/1155 CPU? If yes, i'd love to hear how you are securing it to the motherboard?

I'm currently in the process of switching from an AMD cpu to an i3 2100 on a 1155 socket. I've been trying to find a I5361 crossbow kit for mine so i can continue to use it. I emailed Xigmatek to see if they could help me to try and track down a retailer that may have one, and they pretty much gave me a useless reponse along the lines of "that crossbow kit for that particular and still very capable CPU cooler is now end of line, but here are 3 options of newer £30 cooler we do, go buy one of them " Riiiiiight..... so they are going to be much help.

Ebay listed all of their other crossbow kits for all the other cooler/socket combos except the one i needed. I finally managed to find one in stock at Specialtech.co.uk, so i ordered it. Fast forward about a week to find an email saying they didn't actually have stock and have been unable to track one down for me (i could have told them that ) So they cancelled my ordered.

So this is a bit of a last resort before i have to resign myself to using the stock intel cooler until i have the spare cash to buy a replacement for a CPU cooler that works perfectly fine and was only bought in the 2nd half of 2010.

Well if you go for a ASRock motherboard they actually have socket 775holes on them as well as 1155/1156holes, they are off set so the cooler will not be mounted exactly left right but at a slight angle.

edit: the i5363 kit lists socket 1155/1156 and has probably replaced the i5361

I think you only need some nuts and bolts and the s775 kit. someone posted this on a forum, look for 1156 mounting kits as they are the same and in google for the bolts.

Those links didn't work for me, but google cache can pull them up

As long as the cooler used the intel pushpins you can remove them and use an m3 nut and bolt instead (I'd add washers too)

Basically the holes in both the mounts and motherboard for the pushpins is larger than an m3 thread and the socket 1156/1155 holes are only slightly further apart so the m3 bolt will fit.

Re: Any Xigmatek s1283 CPU cooler owners around?

Cheers for the replies but, i've already bought my motherboard so don't have that option. The crossbow you linked to Pob isn't a replacement for the one i need, it's the i5 mounting kit that fits all of their 4 heat pipe coolers, and wont fit mine.

I have it's original lga 775 mounting kit that came with the cooler and am aware that if i break out the 775 push pins the holes are just big enough to bodge the cooler onto 1155/1156 mounting holes as shown here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNcje3JRO0A Obviously though i'd rather not go that route.

:EDIT: Cheers for the link, hadn't really looked at the push pin assembly and wasn't aware the could be taken out without breaking them, so could be re-used later. That is at least 1 bit of good news.

Ahh I see the i5361 screws onto the underside of the cooler plate, but the i5363 screws onto the top of the cooler plate, bugger.
