Hi,
I have read the manual and all available FAQ's and can't find any help there so I hope you can solve my problem:
Problem: When Powering on the system starts to load Win XP professional from my IDE-connected legacy HDD, aborts and reboots. When I try to boot Win XP in "Safe mode" it loads drivers up to "mup.sys" then aborts and reboots.
Background: I have an Award 6.00PG BIOS. I am using "Fail safe" defaults in the CMOS. I am booting from a legacy HDD from another (the previous) system. It was previously connected to my old ASUS-board. On this drive is a comlete NTFS file system with Win XP professional installed along with all my user data. It was used along with an ATI Rage 128 video card, a NIC-PCI-card, and a wireless LAN-PCI-card (DLINK) so it has drivers for all these. These cards are all removed from my NEW configuration with the 8KDA3+.
I have installed a new Radion 9800 Pro Atlantis card in the AGP-slot. The system still has the old floppy and CR-ROM reader. It is connected to the Internet through a router (connected to Internet via DSL/PPPoE). I have NOT installed any software bundled on the accompanying 8KDA3+ CD-ROM. This is because I can't get Windows XP to boot. I tried using the bundle CD but get questions about installing RAID. I don't want to install RAID.
Can you give me a procedure or protocoll for booting my "old" XP?
Hoping for a quick answer.
Best regards,
knoledad
