Insufficient cooling presumably. I think the sorted means hes got a new cooler?

i've ordered a new one, the problem part is all in my original post, hence i got help.
Is cooling gel a requirement?
You mean thermal paste? You need that or a thermal pad to stick on the bottom of the heatsink so that the contact between the CPU and heatsink is as good as possible. The better the contact, the better the cooling. First choice of thermal paste for me is Arctic Silver 5 (can get it from CPUCity), but most heatsinks and fans come with it. I would have thought that the stuff with the heatsink would be good enough, especially if you're not overclocking, but I'm not too certain.Originally Posted by kirb
What sort of temperatures are you getting at the moment? (I use Speedfan to check, a quick Google should bring up the right page. The CPU temperature for me is Temp2 in case that helps.)
