    Cool Wow - I'm lubbin trackballs!

    I just got this:

    http://www.microsoft.com/uk/mouseand...s.aspx?pid=012

    I'm getting the hang of using it already, and I love how it's negated wrist movement. I have my Intellimouse Optical plugged in still, for when I game, but for anything else I'm lapping up the trackball.

    Of course, I'm reserving final verdict until I've been using it a while, but thus far I'm impressed.
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Thus far I still prefer the mouse for accuracy, but I'm getting there with the trackball, and it's certainly easier on the wrist...

    Directhex, I too borrowed something like that off a friend of mine, but wasn't too keen on it. The reason was I was trying to use it in FPSes. They just aren't any good for that.

    This time I'm keeping my mouse for gaming, and using the trackball for other stuff... I don't game a lot these days anyway; I'm too busy.

    They should develop a mouse with a detachable trackball and optical sensor for different uses on the desktop, for example detached for gaming, attached for browsing and general desktop tasks, attached the trackball would disable the optical sensor beneath and of course detaching it would enable it.

    I was never keen when I tried one. Probably because I couldnt aim with it at all. Damn my hand eye co-ordination

    Used to have one of the old Trackball ones (when intelli-wheels were new) but found the ball got dirty really quickly and was near impossible to clean properly. You'll have to report back on how this one is in the long term as I might be tempted if it's no longer an issue - but saying that has it got a Tilt Wheel ?

    The dirt thing is an issue I find but I've got used to a regime of giving it a once over with a cloth every week or so.
