Stoo any thoughts on the speed issue? 3200 or higher for best overclocks?

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light,
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly, because you tread on my dreams.
What ratio you want? I'd go for the 3200.. its great for now! Keep in mind DDR 2 is out for intel! and AMD has yet to suport.. but when they do.... DDR 4000 isnt bad but its more relaxed in timings!Originally Posted by Scientist
The Corsair XL seems like a good bet, stupidly tight timings that will run all day and night at 3200, and it'll easily do 250MHz FSB when you slacken the timing a bitOriginally Posted by Scientist
DDR2 at the moment is a bit pointless.

Hexus reviewed the pro versions the other week (more money for bigger heatspreaders and some LED's), best of the best apparently

Best ram would have to be the OCZ EB series, mainly the PC3500 and 3700.
I've currently got the 3500 EB's and they can do 2.5-2-2-6 up to 230mhz and then 250mhz with timings 3-2-3-6.
That's all with only 2.85v btw.
With 3v's, the ram will probably go a bit higher and timings can be tightened up. 3v would probably allow me to do 250-260mhz with timings 3-2-2-6.
Don't be put off by the Cas rating.
With the P4 and AMD 64's, Cas rating hardly makes an impact on performance. The most important timings that you need to get low are RAS to CAS and RAS Precharge (the two middle timings).
the XL does 2-2-2-5 to around 220Mhz and is actually DDR500 under the hood anyway..
