    Confused AMD 64bit 3400+

After managing to get alittle extra money together I've just bought an AMD 64bit 3400+ from ebuyer (£137.19), but according to their site it has 512k (I'm guessing MB was a type-o) of level 2 cache and is a Newcastle version. After looking around a bit I cannot find a 64bit 3400+ with 512k, they all seem to have 1mb. The closest thing to have 512k is the new socket 939 3500+ which is called the Newcastle. So what have I just purchased? or is there a 3400+ with 512k?

Also anyone know which is the best 754 motherboard for this processor?
(I'm starting to think I should have thought this out more )

    Thanks in advance
(I've also just noticed the Reputation points and I'm looking to hand out my first one )

Where you link directly to an image without visiting the site first (the webserver checks the referring page, and if it's not the same site it tells you to bugger off..)

If you hit refresh on the page it should solve it

    ah ok

well basically, you can get a AMD Athlon 64 3400+ Newcastle with 512KB L" cache
As for motherboards, have a look at the MSI K8N Neo.

    Thanks,
Although the 3400+ Newcastle 512KB does not seem to appear on the tom's hardware Guide, but does on the techreport but atleast I know it does exists, even if I cannot find any reviews of it.

Any other motherboards not a fan of MSI.

The Abit KV8 series gets my vote on a socket 754 motherboard.

They are stable as hell, and as you expect from Abit, the build quality is excellent and the features are great

This looks potentially interesting - might be worth a check to see if it's even cheaper elsewhere

The Abit KV8 sounds promising, not seen chaintech before will have to do a little more looking around at reviews. I did find a Gigabyte GA-K8N SKT754 Nforce 3 pretty cheap, which seems ok just need to find a couple of reviews. No one like ASUS? They always seem to be recommended.
