OMFG Local stores are charging about the same price as the mobo for a reflash :/

I think it could be easier just to buy a new one at this stage :/

I thought PC World were bad but locals take the pee, I know they have to make a living but thats just not right

All i ask is that you pay postage both ways (include a SAE).

create an elaborate online sale thread... where somebody "wins" to buy a perfectly working computer...

Mail it by royal mail with the insured option.. when it arrives ? OMFG. something is wrong ?

prob solved.. but i think it will never work...

have u tested the cpu anywhere ? this is hard to do. If the cpu is fine. just get a new mobo. NF-7's are pretty cheap now.. its too early to try migrating the whole system at the moment. just a stop gap for another year .

My condolences for your computer. she was a good rig. hardly ever gave any gip even when there was drunken fumblings. didn't scream when u logged off, because she knew you needed space. RIP 2003-2004.

the RM will test a perfectly good board that they nicked many moons ago show you the tests of this then reship back your dead one

pc world also take the pee. then they re-sell it to you OEM.

I was there - not proud but mate was returning stuff. I heard some unfortunate girl with a "Virus".. so cunning that the pc world boot cd for testing couldn't execute....

"nah nah.. what you have there is a virus"
me : "but does it boot up into windows ?"
"I dunno.. never tried it"
me : "let me see that cd ?"
me : "that is scratched to buggery. out of interest how many of your recent pcs have 'had a virus' ?"

i think £50 they were going to charge for that crappy service. then try to sell the poor wench a new top spec pc.

Thanks for the offer, I called the shop where I bought it and they have it now.
Think its just out of warranty but they just said to send it in and they will drop in a new bios and ship it back to me for nout
