At Gladiator we stock several enclosures, some are just USB 2.0 other are both USB 2.0 and Firewire. They come retail boxed with power adaptor, available in 2.5", 3.5" and 5.25". A few different designs but may be something there you like the look of.

Some of our customers report problems getting DVDRW drives to work in the 5.25" ones, but other optical drives and hard drivers are fine.

    I hope that helps.

    Cheers

Just out of curiosity, why would CPU usage matter when transferring data from one drive to another. Not all people are speed freaks though, so USB 1 would be sufficient for quite a few people.

I wouldn't reccomend usb 1 for anyone - I have laptop with usb 1 and had to transfer 4 gig onto a portable hard drive, it took ages (well over an hour, but can't remember how long tbh). Then to transfer the same data from the portable drive to another pc (with had usb 2) took 6 mins.

    USB 1 is painfully slow.

I know it is, I'm just saying that some people might not mind if they don't have an amazingly large amount to transfer, that's all.
