Identify the sizes you want and then buy those ones from good companies. Look for something which is made of Vanadium or Molybdenum steel(many of the good ones will be usually made of these though). Also if you do get a Torx wrench set,get one which has an additional ball end as this is quite useful if you need to unscrew things at an angle.

You don't need dozens of screwdrivers. A couple of shorter ones and a few ones with very long shafts will be useful. The latter are useful for screwing in motherboards and some of the drive bays which are not screwless.

I bought one of these in 2008.

The torch was rubbish and quickly got replaced with a LED one but other than that, it's still doing valiant service.

You can do most things to do with a PC with a Phillips No2 long screwdriver(with a shaft about 200mm long). I use a Britool ratcheting one with a magnetic bit holder and it is perfect for installing motherboards.

I also often use a 3mm flat screw driver that is long, Can be invaluable for pushing fan plugs onto motherboard headers in difficult places.

Agreed. I've been putting together PCs in one form or another for 20 odd years and i've never had a problem with magnetized bits. They reduce the job time significantly in tight spaces (i.e. PCs).

Speaking of which i'm a big fan of leccy drivers - at least if they're used with a little care and experience (given how powerful they are thesedays) - coupled with a decent manual for careful tightening for more fragile jobs.

That's almost certainly the only way to get exactly what you want. I've had quite a lot of multi kits and tbh I never use 95% of the stuff that comes in them. Get yourself the 3 or 4 tools you actually *need*, then put them in a special case and take really good care of them - you'll be using them in ten, fifteen, twenty year's time

that said, the tool that lasted me the longest is a long-shaft multi screwdriver from Wilkos that I only paid a couple of quid for - the bits are long since gone but I've kept the shaft and it gets far more use than any of the funkier, more expensive ratchet ones I've picked up since!
