case is usually steady at 30 ish or lower, CPU usually idles at mid to late 20s up to 35 under load hence why i was most shocked when it got as hot as it did!
case fan wise i have two front blowing in, one side blowing in, 2 back sucking out, one otes fan on the mobo sucking out, all balanced to slight overpressure.

I have a similar problem, although the CPU doesn't vary, it always quite high. Idles at about 52C and highest I've seen it is 64C, reseated the HSF twice already, pretty confident thats not the problem.

I have the Abit AV8, and a Zalman CNPS7000B-Cu on full speed, and 3 case fans if that helps.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.
