I would probably consider a Nvidia card for UE3 development - the R9 290 is fantastic value,but UE4 incorporates several Nvidia specific features. Epic has been for many years in bed with Nvidia - not to say that an AMD GPU will run a UE4 based title badly,but I am thinking more of feature set.

Its kind of why AMD probably has invested so much into CryENGINE as a counter.

In the end we went with a 760 twin frozer and and extra 8gb ram in the end, it felt the right cash point. The r9 285 was the same price, but for the nvidia benefits it was a real toss up.

Officially I understand that the editor is GPU agnostic, but the engine itself isn't. What surprised me is according to a few sources, physix isn't supported by the engine normally, it's got to be added on by the devs.

For a first time developer though, this should rock.

I felt sad leaving it at his house, so much faster and quieter than my x3 720 and r4830!... 15 seconds to boot is stonking
