No problem, I'm happy to be of help. I'm sure you'll be happy with the Asus 970, I'm gaming at 2560x1440 with an MSI 970, & it's a great combination

I think someone is going to be in for a shock compared to the size of a 8600gts (and that was never a great card when it was new btw)

Your psu comes up as the corsair CX600w, not the best of 600w psu's, but decent enough and should cope wth a gtx970 fine.

Ahh pob255 you almost scared me there! I think I even have the right connectors! Surprised it only takes one connector and not 2!

I used to game a fair bit but stopped when I started studying for exams lol!! Luckily I have a case big enough (antic p182) I had to shift my hdd cages to the bottom! This game better be worth it lol I upgraded my windows to 64 and an expensive card!!!

I want to find other games to play too why do they not make age f empires anymore

I notice you don't have an SSD in your system - there is a good offer on here:

    http://forums.hexus.net/retail-thera...b-37-43-a.html

It won't make your games run faster per se, but it will speed up system responsiveness, boot & load times. Battlefield 4 is one good example, the map load times are horrendous from a conventional hard disk.

I guess it depends on your definition of 'affordable' That offer I linked to is about the cheapest price I've seen for 128Gb & 256Gb SSDs, although they are 'recertified' ones. Games do tend to take up a lot of space, Battlefield 4 is close to 50Gb.

    Re: Upgrade for Gaming Rig

An r9 280x would be the best but a nvidia 760 would also work.
The r9 280x would definitely be the best choice though
