Depends on the keyboard and location, some laptop keyboards like mine need to have half the laptop taken apart to remove them. Others just need a couple of screws.

I also use that Jelly stuff: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cleaner-Keyb...dp/B00C6LS64I/
Works really well on my mech and office keyboards; I even use it to clean my gamepads and the inside corners of my desk. Don't worry about it tearing or breaking apart, as long as you don't leave it to "soak" in too long, it should come off fairly easily.
Henry Hoover and antibacterial wipes for me. I did pull off some of the keys once as there was debris trapped behind them, but they are pretty fragile and I managed to break one putting them back on.
Hi
I've put keyboards in the dishwasher as well. Low heat quick wash does it fine, needs a few days to dry, sometimes further taking to pieces to let it dry. Most keyboards go through a dishwasher before leaving a factory and fully assembled. The only keyboards I know that won't work isn't anything with a circuit board attached, but that should go without saying for people on this site (or does it ;-) )
If for any reasons it didn't work it cheap enough to replace and sell the broken one for someone else to fix or sell on the keys. So not a big loss if it ever did happen.
Most of the time I just use a paint brush and hover, followed by a wet cloth. Does 90% and looks good for the average user.
Baby wipes if I'm lazy, I use those things to clean a lot of things around my room. But for a thorough cleaning, I'll unscrew the whole keyboard, take it all apart and just wash in a small tub with soap and a toothbrush if it's really that bad.
i pull the keys off let them soak in some soapy water, then jusy wet wipes on the base. Leave anything to air dry. then job jobbed
use an ecloth here and you can't beat a quick blast of compressed air
Use compressed air for getting stuff from underneath, and alcohol and paper towels for the top.
I usually use soft brush, alcohol and paper towels.
A warm damp clothe, dont fancy rubbing any numbers off!
Usually a damp cloth for just a regurlar clean, and rubbing alc. if theres worn in dirt. Cotton pads are great I find for my keyboard.
rubbing alchohol
