Thanks to all thoes who recomended AMD!

Well, its been three days now with my 3500 and MSI neo 2 plat mobo... at first I was confronted with many problems... after I got some help from Hexus I managed to work out the kinks. However it still wasnt as fast as I thought she could be... So I read that dam manual and I discovered this setting in bios that dealt with the memory settings (1T vs 2T) well it was at 2T but I fixed that and now look at what hapened!

This is at stock with no OC!

Well all I can say is wow! This thing is amazingly fast! How fast are you wondering? well lets just say 40% faster then my old P4! I plan to do some miled OCing and I'll get back to this thread to post some more results!

Winchesters are the smaller 90nm cored AMD 64's which run at a lower voltage and therefore it has been found to be better for overclocking.

Other than that if ran at stock speed they will run cooler so this too is a bonus

This is barely half the story. The Winchester is better bang for the buck but the 3500+ has a higher multi and for most people (especially if your RAM isn't that great) it will outperform a 3200+. A good overclocker could probably get more out of a 3200+ Winnie than a 3500+ Newcastle, but not much more.

Yes. Your motherboard BIOS is not at all accurate when reporting temps.

So you're runninf 220x11? DDR440? What memory and timings? 1T?

But it might be reporting wrong side rather than right side...

Could always try the egg test.

Can you say multi tasking? Each movie has a bit rate of 10 Mb/s However the GPU still leaves much for my CPU... Dam Nvidia... Just figured I show yous how badly I'm abusing my new CPU!
