    Hi team i have got a problem now,
    when i switch my pc, i get double bios beeps, and also an eror saying ATAPI incompatible.
    What does this mean ?
    cos the HDD runs fine ecept when i watch movies(in dvd quailty). There is always a jerkiness in between, say when i move my mouse. Is that because of the hdd low specs (5400RPM)

    Is it on is own cable, and is it master/slave?
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    Master should be the first along the cable, slave the second.

    Make sure the master drive is NOT set for master with no slave (although not all drives actually have that option) - it might still work, but technically it shouldn't.

    Depends on the drive... they're all different.

    Also it sounds like DMA mode isn't working properly.

    TBH I'd have the hard drives on separate cables, both as masters.

    Kez, my HDD problem is sorted, i corrected something in the bios, so that the HDD is recognised in the bios. Now no error while windos is laoding. But my startup time has increased since installing a new hardrive.
