im pretty sure ebuyer is fine as you will see them with good reputation from alot of websites such as pcpartpicker, on the odd occasion its components may have problems but you will get that with everyone even Amazon.

Glad you got there in the end. 55 days is just silly.
Where did you order your replacement from ?¿

Even if Amazon aren't the cheapest, its often worth paying that bit extra for the hassle free RMA process if things do go wrong.

General situation .... consumer is liable for returning goods, or direct cost of collection if the supplier collects them, UNLESS :-
a) the retailer didn't properly explain the consumer would be liabld prior to buying, or
b) the goods were otherwise rejectable under the Sale of Goods Act, such as faulty, etc
If they were supplied as new, but weren't, I'd say that qualifies under b).

Always fine.
I avoid eBuyer at all costs now, even when the cheapest. Had to RMA once and went on forever, in the end had to involve my credit card company and they covered it. Terrible service from eBuyer and trying to explain somthing to them was drawing blood from a stone.
Odd, I had twice in the recent 12 months an RMA experience with eBuyer and was flawless in both cases.
On the other hand Scan was a bit different.Had to enquiry about my MoBo,had to call about the status and separately had to order a replacement with had a day delay. But what can you do...
