Seemingly very bad rails on my psu!!

I was just looking at what mbm5 reported my psu to be doing and have seen the following:

    +3.3 = 3.22
    +5 = 2.61
    +12 = 11.37-11.41

Now this doesnt seem great to me folks, my system is very stable though and i have actually run a vapoXE from this psu (cheapy hec 420watt). Im about to power an 80watt pelt from it soon, but apart from 1hdd, 1dvd-rw, 9800p and A64 ive got no obvious heavy psu useage. Should i just say, oh well, and ignore it or think this is bad and do something about it? Interestingly ivenever been able to get any particularly good and stable overclocks out of my system - could the psu have a share of blame here?

Get a multimeter from maplins (couple of pounds) and check from a molex

Thats alot of stuff to be running off a cheap psu, if it goes bang you might not have much left Look to invest in a Tagan 480w PSU

In short, your PSU is crap.

Those voltages suck, but that's what you get with cheap PSUs.

Compare this to the 480W Tagan Whisper:

    3.3V-28A
    5V-48A
    12V-28A which is massive.

I'm sure the 5V is being read wrong because your PC wouldn't run if it was that low...

But the others are far from great.
I don't mean to sound cold, or cruel, or vicious, but I am so that's the way it comes out.

Motherboard readings are crap. Don't rely on them in most cases. Get a multimeter and test the rails seperately when the computer is on. But be careful, don't short anything.

Multimeter is an extremely useful tool.... far more than I ever thought so!

Grab one and check to be sure
