I'm getting a Dell Ultrasharp 20 "2005FPW 1650 x 1050 - should that be ok?
Oi nvening, quit taking a new post for every line. It is annoying. You can post more than one thing at once yknow.
As for your system, do you have any mates who would build for you? Where in the UK do you live? I'm sure if there is any of us near you we would be happy to build it for you, which would save you a fair bit. If you want the best then I suppose FX55 is the way to go, maybe 2 6800gts, 300gb HDD, 1gb PC3200 XL a nice Plextor 716a DVD rewriter and what ever else you were thinking on.
Bear in mind that system is for top of the range. Some would say overkill. What are you going to do with this system? Also, what games will you be playing on it if you are playing games?

As for your monitor, yeh that's great. I have one of them on one of my rigs, works like a charm. And massive
Games like HL2 and Rome total war. I'm trying to get a system that won't need upgrading in 18months so I can still play the latest games.
Actually, this graphics card is great. One of the best out there. The fastest GPU out there right now is Ati's X850. Give it a look. Although if I were you I would probably get myself two XFX Geforce 6800gt's.Originally Posted by nvening

That in itself should last a fair while without the need to upgrade, but when you do need a boost, you could a) Stick another *identical* 6800gt in, or b) sell the single card and buy the new whizzy top end card that'll be out at the time.
Does anyone know when the ASUS SLI boards compatible with AMD FX55 will be out?
They are out.
