Newly built AMD 64 system problem

Edit: Getting frustrated now, anyway heres the current questions:

Whats LDT/FSB ratio? I assume somehting to do with hypertransport. How does this affect cpu speed? Min is 1x..

CPU/FSB ratio. This cant be multi, only goes upto 10, and a 3200+ needs 11x for 2.2ghz..
    Min is 4x..
I can only assume Im wrong and 3200+'s run at 2ghz.. not 2.2ghz.. but that aint theproblem if so.. becuase it crashes at 1x.

I would really like the bios to display cpu speed in mhz and not just the model no. on boot (which doesnt seem to change when settings are changed, which is not usefull!!!!)

DDR Command rate. Cant find this in DRAM config either... maybe mine just dont have it... but it sould, it has just aboout every other option possible in there!!!!!

    Original post:
aswell as the hdd I recived today (this thread) I also recived this stuff :

    AMD64 3200+ 939 0450 GPAW chip
    DFI NF4 Ultra-D
    and someother bits.

Im having stability problems. Im using a decent psu - CWT 550w ADP (I tryed using a 350w generic [semi-decent - runs my other system fine] first and it wouldnt get very far atall).
Now, Ive managed to get win2k installed on hdd mentioned above, when windows starts it BSODs on the network password box almost instantly.
And the bloody anooying thing is that I cant read the BSOD becuase win2k defualts to restart-on-BSOD.

Firstly I dont know what half of the bios options in the cpu/ram page mean, so maybe I should read the manual, but it would appear that I cannot underclock the cpu..

Cpu speed is still FSB * Multi, right? and I cant change multi.. and min fsb is 200...

Any help with this is much appreachiated..

edit: just want to add that im really impressed with this mobo and once this problemis out the way I would VERY highly recommend everyone to get one.. they r0x (atleast so far.. you can only evaluate things soo much without having windows installed prioperly)

can you not change the reg setting to allow you to see the bsod? , its probably caused by one of the drivers at a guess tho - try disabling the network in the bios to see if it is the network card causing it

and yes you can underclock as you can lower the cpu multi but not raise it

and obviously have you tried running memtest etc?

I cant get into windows, as its a fresh install. As soon as it loads it comes up with the chose password box at which time it crashes..

Ill have alook through the manual to find out what the options mean.

Can you not change the System logging options through safe mode? Ie: untick "automatically reboot on system failure" ?

Its a hardware problem... while id like it not to R-O-BSOD.. fixingthe hardware would be nicer

Running safemode, it will still BSOD just as quick...

HTT Frequency (FSB) x LDT multiplier = HyperTransport Bus
You want to keep this below 1000 eg. 5x@200HTT,4x upto 250HTT & 3x over 250+HTT

CPU/FSB ratio. This cant be multi, only goes upto 10, and a 3200+ needs 11x for 2.2ghz..

    939 3200+ runs at 2.0GHz with a 10x multi so yes, it's multi

DDR Command rate. Cant find this in DRAM config either... maybe mine just dont have it... but it sould, it has just aboout every other option possible in there!!!!!
I would be very surprised if it isn't there - are you scrolling down the menu far enough?

Btw what Rev. did you get?
I've been reading on the forums about a lot of the DFI nForce4s experiencing Sudden Death Syndrome.

    Thanks for that.
    Hasnt fixed the prob though...

Command rate aint there. Just about every timing is there, but no words mention command rate, but there IS cpc, is that the same thing?

Im told by cpucity tech support that all PCBs are the same, the only difference in the A02 rev is it has the latest bios. For there to eb a hardware mod, it would be AXx, where X is hardware rev and x is software rev (which relates to bios but im not sure if it directly relates to the version number...).

Wouldnt be supprised about SDS. There are a lot of options that could potentially kill a mobo quite quickly.. but that only accunts for user error. If you know of any issues.. please tell me

I think I know what the cause is!
If you look in the paper manual, under power connectors. thefloppy connector has the wrong pin-out, with 5 &12v swapped over. Now if this is how the board really is and not just a typo.. *bang*

Thanks for that link, didnt know dfi had there own forums
