AMD FX-55 price drop

I am currently trying to workout which mb/cpu combination to purchase. Im thinkin Socket 939 (Av8) with AMD 3500+ .

But I don't want to get caught out by fx-55 / 4000+ or even P4 570 prices suddenly dropping into my price range.

What are the prospects of this happening soon (rumours will do) and will the drop be enough to make them a reasonable investment for gamers.

The FX series is always going to be priced at the same point apparently, with a new model simply replacing the old when it appears (which in the case of the FX-57 isnt going to be for quite some time).

i think the FX-57 is a month or two away. Even when its out, I wouldn't expect to see much of a drop on the FX-55.

The FX55 is out of production in the ramp up to the FX57. Have you seen it for sale new anywhere recently? I haven't for sure and the prices on eBay are getting stupid
