slim line Hard disk drive (not Laptop)

I need a slim line Hard disk drive.

I think the standard Hard disk drive is about 25mm in height.

    I need something about 15-18mm.

I have seen some Maxtor 40gb that is the required height, in another machine.

Any of you got slim big drives ?

Can anyone confirm that the 40gb Maxtor Diamond Max Plus 8 are slimline?
I have one made in March 2003 that is, not too sure if it's just a special edition one?

    Cheers I think you're correct.
Typical that I buy the 80gb one and it's not!

The slimline drive is going in a slimline case or a homemade case!

I'm trying to decide, I might have a look around Muji for boxes or maybe Ikea!

The 40Gb Maxtor is very slim for a 'full size' drive. Got mine from EBuyer.
