I have just purchased a Shuttle SB95PV2 and I can not get any ATI graphics driver to work with my ATI X300 card. On the reboot it looses the input signal.
I am using XP MCE 2005.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
Thanks
Ash

More details on the driver versions would help. Are they XPMCE approved versions of the ATI cats?

I have downloaded
CATALYST 5.3 Windows XP Media Center Edition drivers from:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/...uestionID=1154
Does the SB95P V2 support ATI X300 Card?
I can not see it on the list from the shuttle website.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hi Ash,
I find it hard to belive that Shuttle would not support a low end (i.e. media PC ideal) card like the X300/300SE. Got a 300SE PCIe card running in a shuttle, unfortunately it's not a SB95PV2.
How is the card configured? What make is it? etc. etc.
The drivers do seem like the correct ones for MCE and they do support the X300 GPU.
This 'on reboot' problem seems to suggest that the problem might have little to do with windows and a LOT to do with the card. Is the card OK in another PC?
Can you elaborate on the problem and define the 'stages' you get to when it fails. I.E. Can you get into windows using the VESA/VGA drivers that windows has and use windows just not install the card? Do you loose the signal before the BIOS, during windows loading or after the GUI is up?

1) I put in a Sapphire ATI Radeon X300 256MB DDR, PCI-E into my new Shuttle SB95PV2.
2) I installed Windows XP MCE 2005.
3) The machine boots up fine using VESA/VGA drivers.
4) I then installed CATALYST 5.3 Windows XP Media Center Edition drivers.
5) Once the drivers are installed it asks to reboot the machine. I say yes.
6) The signal is then lost after windows loading splash screen appears just before the GUI is up.
7) I then restart, go into safe mode and uninstall the ATI Drivers.
I do not have another machine to test the card on. Do I need to change any settings in the bios?
I do not have another machine to try it on.
I hope this helps.

Hi Ash,
Can you try running @ 800*600 or 1024*768 using Windows VESA drivers please (i.e without the cats installed) and post the results.
Trying to work out if it's the card, screen res, refresh rate of another anomaly.
John
On boot press F8 and select VGA mode from the startup options.
Sounds like its setting the res to high
