Just to mention the Arctic Cooling A35 A-RGB was reviewed today from Mike's Unboxing & Reviews (Youtube). He's done some initial testing and found using a Ryzen 3900X it performs about 4 to 5 deg worse than a Noctua D15 (which is an excellent result!), and he's expecting it to be sub £40 when released (listed at 40 euro apparently, so whatever they convert that too). Could be an excellent mid-tier air cooler.

I would splash out an extra £4 and get a Noctua NH-U12S redux $43.99 on Amazon. Keeps your 3600 CPU cool enough and basically silent with the right fan curve.

It's now available for pre-order from Scan for £35. Seems decent

Note this only comes with an AMD bracket, there's an Intel variant too, but it's not currently listed as far as I can see?

Re: Best r5 3600 CPU cooler <£40 esports duo?

I bought a used the upgrade Wraith Prism for my 3600. It was £13 on Amazon (I think its a small OEM selling off coolers from purchases buying a customer cooler). Its only noise when the system is under heavy load and PBO is enabled. Under normal load it quiet and looks pretty good for £13 if I'm honest. Not really sure apart from silence what a better cooler gets you with a 3600? Its not a hot chip unless you enable PBO and that made so little difference to performance it wasn't worth enabling. I can't help but thinking if your going to stick a £50+ cooler on a mid range 3600 you'd be better buying a better chip in the first place (a 3700 isn't that much more than £100 cooler upgrade over a 3600)
    Trust

    Laptop : Dell Inspiron 1545 with Ryzen 5500u, 16gb and 256 NVMe, Windows 11.

Noise was the reason I upgraded my 3700 (also a 65W TDP part) to a cheap esports cooler, but in doing so the all core boost frequency went up and my compile times came very slightly down.

Even with the noise, it wasn't the level of noise that annoyed me because it isn't that loud, it was the way I could hear it spinning faster and slower all the time as I worked.

For £40 I would look at a used AIO on FB and ask people if they will post and take PayPal G&S... I think you should get a old corsair one for £40....a AIO look great and are effective... Or if your wanting to spend less just get a Wraith prism cooler... Again ask people on FB to post and take £20...fir the price they are great RGB coolers
