    Starfield hardware thread

As I have been saying for a while this game was going to be CPU heavy in NPC heavy areas. This is seen in Fallout 4:
    https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/th...ults.18946938/

It transpires the game can be very CPU intensive:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiIQpvpdXLc

That review tests the recommended hardware and CPU scaling. Here are some screenshots:
    https://imgur.com/a/8CKq8gT

    Some more testing on consoles:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LlStOHRI56o

The consoles can hold 30FPS but not in cities. It seems areas with lots of NPCs and firefights are CPU limited:

I'm here to add the obligatory "it runs on steamdeck!" comment...
But it's not good... Like 800p at half res scaling =25fps "not good"

    1440p with a 3060ti is disappointing

    At least 10fps

I just skimmed that digital trends article, high preset Defaults to using FSR2 rather than full res!

It's an AMD sponsored title and Nvidia needs to release drivers too:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGL3fczSXaI

The RX6700XT thrashes the RTX3060TI ATM. It might be a good excuse for me to upgrade!

I have a RX6700XT and it is all over games in 1440p but think I will wait a bit for Starfield to be a bit more optimised before I purchase

But the RTX3060TI/RX6700XT are getting on a bit now,so it will be the case of dropping settings down to medium or high.

    CPU benchmarks:
    https://www.pcgameshardware.de/Starf...ungen-1428119/

Seems to scale with RAM speeds like Fallout 4 and has a preference for Intel CPUs.

Its a very taxing game and optimised to run on AMD dGPUs.

That above video tests that configuration. But if you look at post 10,the game seems to have a preference for Intel CPUs and high RAM speeds.

Fallout 4 showed the same preference for RAM speed.
