Upgrade, board and 939 x2 AMD.

I`m gonna start upgrading soon from my 3 dual AMD Asus A7M-266D (with bartons in) to dual core 939`s.
One thing I don`t want is SLI as I`m quite happy with my 9800`s and I`m still using IDE via Highpoint Raid 5s which work on 33/32 pci.
So just the board and cpu, preferably overclockable a bit.
Have been reading about the new ULI chipset and that is starting to look nice but it`s mainly (till Abit and a few others get them out) on budget type boards.

Recommendations anybody? Not the very latest all singing and dancing, just around mid range.

Tricky as most (if not all) of the newer boards that support dual cores are PCI express. You could look round and see if any of the NF3 boards have support for dual core. The epox board I'm using (9NDA3) does not support dual core but epox are supposedly working on a bios update for dual core.

The A8N-E is the best board IMO, and it has PCI-E.

I presumed that when you said you were happy with your 9800s you were refering to the ATI 9800 pro? and if you were you can't use them on a PCI-E board.

Haven't tested the Abit AN8 yet. If anybody has one I'd be interested in your experiences with it, especially when running X2's. The only board I know for certain that runs perfectly with the X2 is the Asus A8N-E. If you want to keep your 9800 AGP cards then the A8V is what you want. The 1013 BIOS supports the X2. I like the MSI Neo2 Platinum but it does not support the X2 yet.

Sorry, should have been a bit clearer.
I don`t want SLI or PCIe as I have a lot of cards in use which I`m happy with and won`t be replacing. Added to that is I bring cards home for "testing" and doing some specialist work at home such as a rather nice Quadro and our current crop are all AGP.
Performance is not my ultimate aim but I do need dual as I use some quite sophisticated software ( also mainly on "test") and I run the odd game or two but not that competitively. The 3 rigs are used at a permanent 100% and also run set tasks which are different on each but all heavily used as servers.
