    Aquagate Mini R120

    Hi All
I'm looking to purchase a new CPU cooler, and I've been looking at the budget coolermaster Aquagate Mini R120. I need to know if anyone uses this particular one, as I'm looking for something almost silent. At the mo. I'm using a CM Jet 7, but it certainly lives up to its name and is far too noisy for me!. Does anyone know if the aquagate is quiet, and most of all the cooling performance, but as I'm only using an athlon XP 2100, it doesnt need to be superb, but still fairly good. Are there any other budget liquid cooling systems out there? Cheers

Avoid budget water cooling - you'll get better results going for highish end-air for a similar price.

Not actually used the aquagate mini.

I'm looking at the Coolriver Deluxe 120mm kit, which cools your CPU, graphics card and northbridge for about £70 + delivery.

    At Scan.

Cheers mate, will bear that in mind. Any suggestions for £30-£40 for an athlon xp2100? I need something that performs well and is quiet. I've also had a look at arctic cooling fans, as they claim to be near-silent. Any oppinions?

Is the cpu a palamino? they run quite hot..

An slk800 or better would do it (Xp90C is the much updated version, dunno if it fits socket A though).

Yes, and yep...it gets hot...thats why I always have the blower on full blast, but I'm sick of the 'jet engine' noise. I'll have a look at those you mentioned, thx

on the budget watercooling side theres a;so the Thermaltake Bigwater kit for about £50-£55 at some places, should beat the R120 easily but not be as good as the Coolriver.

The coolriver kit is a hunka junk (very poor design and construction) and probably won't last 6 months.

The aquagate is quite effective but not as much as a good zalman cooler.

The Corasir 'Cool' is one of the best 'all in one' systems you can buy because it uses quality components and can cope with CPU, GPU and northbridge.
