    Pent-M HSF?

I have a DFI board and the HSF which comes with it.

I have it in a Hiper chassis - running a 2.13G CPU - 1GB Ram, 160GB SATA drive etc - all working well.

Bar the fact the HSF makes a stupid whining sound when the top of the chassis is on it. It is something to do with the fan so close to the grill.

Is there any decent passive solutions?

The case is as thin as your normal DVD player...

waddabout one of these, it's a maybe it 72mm high

    http://www.silverstonetek.com/products-nt03.htm

It sort off supports socket 479, but...

“Due to an increasing number of Pentium M desktop motherboards featuring proprietary CPU cooler mounting holes, the NT03 will no longer be listed as having support for Socket 479”

So if your board has standard 479 mounting holes you should be ok

    Intel Micro-FCPGA Socket (mPGA479M) Standards
Page 42 has the mounting hole layout specs
