Word to the Wise?

Any one have any words of wisdom before i embark on building my SN 45? So far this is what will be inside..

2500+
256 Cosair XMS 3200 x 2
Maxtor 120gig hd
Asus 52x 24x 52x Cdrw
Abit FX5200 ( dont laugh )
Win XP PRO

Think thats it. i not sure if i will get a floppy drive or not. Any one have any thing they would change ( other then the video card, ill upgrade in a month ) ? Total System will cost be about $720USD.
Any extra software, drivers or anything i should get before i start?

bleh, floppy pap. Make a boot CD or the XP Pro CDs are bootable. Use the 3.5" drive for a 6 in 1 unit or leave it for an extra harddisk.

games, internet crap like that... i know its not gonna benchmark real high with a crappy video card but... iam poor and i cant get everything at one time =)

The specs seem fine..........if you are going on the internet obviously get a firewall and an anti-virus package before you connect.

i wouldnt personally get either a firewall or antivirus package before hooking up but each to their own

I think it would be terribly unwise to connect to the internet without having a firewall or antivirus running, what with all the worms around. I made the mistake and within one minute of being connected I had got the nachi worm. I really advise protected surfing

probably because they take his precious resources

however, i do think av and firewalls are important - i use my adsl router to do all my firewalling:
block all
then allow set ports

is the only way to have true control over your system.

It may use some resources but id rather that than infect the world and loose all my data and possibly loose all my hardware too.
