Advice for a new PC case

Hi,

I am in the process of deciding which PC case to buy. I have short listed a couple but would like other suggestions as well.

My short list is:
Coolermaster Cavalier 3
Thermaltake Soprano

Must haves:
* Should either be silver of if other colour needs a door
* No large exposed areas (mesh surroundings) due to dust.
* NOT fussed with big neon lights
* No cheap plastic and 'extreme' gimicky fronts.
* Must be tower and ATX
* front and rear (12cm) exhaust fans.

How sturdy is the Soprano as reviews I've read make out it's cheap and plastiky. I've not seen it for real so can't make a judgement. I've seen the Cavalier 3 and really like it. Only prob I could see is lack of front fan grill and it being an 8cm only. Otherwise pretty much spot on.

note: Includes lil cleaning cloth for wiping the front!

And if your clever, you can chop up and old pair of tights and slip it over the front air filter for even finer air filtering! Does the job just nicely and is the same chassis as a Tsunami which is £30 dearer...

Antec P180.

Possibly one of the best cases you can buy right now.

I've heard good things about the cheaper Antec, the SLK3000b. I'm also in the market for a new case and very tempted by it.

I bought myself a silver Coolermaster Wavemaster in January and to be honest I wasn't impressed (this may be more down to the P4 I installed in it though)

Turning up today I've got a nice new Coolermaster Centurion 531 in silver, the killer thing for me is that it has 120mm intake and outake fans which should help make things cooler and quieter plus it only cost me £40 + delivery

... my Centurion 531 has just arrived (woo hoo, with my Vantec NXP-301 fan controler) and I have to say for the price it's damn good.

A good buy is the Antec P160 from Amazon. Its £73 delivered, but is Aluminium, has CD and Floppy drive covers, comes with a rear 120mm fan and has plenty of space along with Temp sensors as well.

Well worth a look.

Thanks for the suggestions. Some of them are out of my budget unfortunately - it's more in the region of £40 - £50.

There are a couple of other cases I'm now considering:

Raidmax Titan (901 series) and
KME 5260 case (see here)

what do you reckon?

I would avoid anything that has ebuyer and vaule in the same sentance. U get what u pay for with cases ( as with many other things). The KME 5260 is probably made out of paper thin "metal" and everytime you have to mess about inside the case you will cut your hands to shreads

I haven't been able to get more info on this case and hasve discounted this along with the Raidmax (Style over substance).

It's really down to the cavalier and the soprano....hmm decisions.. decision..

I dont like "plasticy" cases so id go with the coolermaster.

I have already ordered my new case the Cavalier 3 (with Window) for a really cheap price! (£38)

Hopefully the window will be solid!
Next step is to think about CPU and MB.. time to upgrade my ageing system.

I'm going to order a P180 in the next few days...can't wait!! But a Cavalier 3 is probable the best for astectics and looking flash...and at £38 thats a bargan!!
