    Question Raid Partition Query

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum - technically it's not hardware, but at the same time it's not Operating system and Applications either!

How do partitions work over Raid? I had never given thought to it before, but I'm used to dealing with physical disks and partitioning within them. As raid seems to blur the distinction between physical disks, can I still partition easily? And what programs would I need to do that?

    Thanks in advance,

    Kalniel

Exactly the same- eg: I have 2x 160g drives in Raid 0. Efectively this is now just one big 320g drive. You can then partition this just the same way that you do with a normal physical drive.

I think Raid 1 will work the same way. eg 160g drive partitoned in to 3 will mirror exactly to the other 160g drive.

The best software I have found is partition magic for partitioning in windows. When i set my raid up I partitioned before the windows install.
