    AMD A64 3700+, 4000+ or 3800x2?

    Hi folks,

Just about to order the following items -

Asrock DUAL-SATA2 939 (I have a 6800 AGP card that I dont want to throw yet)

    Antec SLK3000B Case

    Just unsure on the CPU.

My budget will stretch to a 3700+, 4000+ or 3800+X2 (Dual Core)

I'm not planning to overclock, the 4000+ is attractive as its essentially FX53, but the slower dual core 3800+ is attractive.

What would people advise? I'm gonna order tonight.

    Thanks

    Tungst3n

if your not planning any overclocking then the 400 is the best bet as it has the quickest single core which most applications are using for the near future and when dual core becomes more main stream you will be able to afford a much better one than the entry level becasue they will fall in price, however if you were thinking of this option it would also be a good idea to get a 3700 and slightly clock it if you need to the extra speed then save the money for the dual cores when they come down in price and you can afford a 4400+ or something more significant
