Am comtemplating a storage upgrade soonish.
What should I think about selling four 80GB Segate SATA 7200.7s for?
As always, thanks for the feedback, folks!
dunno but im interested in one of them
I think he was simply concurring the fact that he would also like one...not that he wants one off you
I'd say £30 delivered in the UK. I got a brand new 80GB from Scan the other day for £36 delivered, so, y'know, cant charge much.
how much waranty do they have left on them?
The latest Seagate 80Gb comes with NCQ and "If purchased after July 26, 2004 the internal products will have the five-year warranty."
I'd be honest and say that £20max inc delivery seems more like it if these are the previous generation with lesser warranty. You probably have to be desperately short of money to buy one of these 2nd hand anyway...
I'd say about £20 a piece, bearing in mind warrenty remaining and the fact they've been superseeded. Might be worth it in applications where speed isn't important?
Possibly if two are identical and you can RAID you might get a bit more for the pair (at least it seems more interesting to me).
I just sold an 80gb Seagate 7200.7 Sata NCQ drive (full name just to confirm they're the same as yours) with 4 and a half years or so left on the warranty for £30 inc.
If they don't have the warranty I doubt they will sell well You can check the warranty of each drive exactly on the seagate website if you have the numbers and serials from the white sticker on the top of the drive.
I've just bought a 200gb Sata 7200.7 to replace the 80gb Ide old workhorse I have in now. Its about 2 years old and is 1 year out of warranty so I doubt it will be selling well, £20 inc max.
As these are Sata I'd say £25-30 inc del if you're lucky if with 5 year warranty.
£20ish in del if they're not.
