I really don't think it's broken. Check any multimedia settings (Control Panel?) and ensure you have all of the latest drivers installed. Also check the leads too. Seems strange but not likely to be a sign of a faulty mobo.

Check your speakers on another mobo. That doesn't sound like a major problem to me compared to what some people suffer.

The problem is on the mother board the colours are not the correct colours indicating colours for your speaker jacks (if that makes sense). I think you have to switch the green and orange/yellow jacks around. I had this problem when I first setup my board (when it was working) and that seemed to fix the prob. Just try switching jacks around, the problem is there not the board.

Go into control panel and check the "sounds and audion devices" window to see if it's muted since mine managed to mute itself the other day

easy dude be more specific than how you turnthe speaker pon it dont like that

the board probably works ok, to troubleshoot it:

    try some walkman headphones
open the little green nview panel onthe tray with the sound controls and look at the channels
if both channels work in software, then try an audio out socket and turn the jack round in it and make sure that it's really well plugged in. blow in it.
pull the jack out half a milimeter and see if the left channel wires get some contact.
try various audio plugs and compare them against headphone plugs to see if the 3 trips are exactly the same.
