    XPC & Sound issue

I have a Shuttle SB75G2, which has an Realtek ALC650 6 channel audio sound card on the motherboard with an SP-DIF connection and analog out's. I have nothing connected to the SP-DIF and only use the analog port to connect ot my amp. I have no problems playing mp3 through WMP10, howver, when I try to play DVD's I get no sound, I have tried NeroVision to install the Codec for DVD's and also WINDVD tp play them, but still no sound. Has anybody any ideas ?

Your playing the dvd's in WMP10? What are the dvd's encoded in? If your getting sound in music but not movies it suggests a codec issue.

    Have you disabled the optical?

    Cheers Tino appreciated,

Codec issue .......... I have a full copy of NeroVision and I beleive this should include the codecs (but I'm not sure). I can't seem to be able to disable the optical in the BIOS, only the AC97 device itself and I can't find it it the Device Manager. Any othe pointers ?

The optical out will be disabled with the rest of the onboard sound. In the DVD player properties there should be an option to pass digital audio to the optical output, whcih is what im guessing its doing, you just need to toggle it off.

Sorted ... downloaded the MS Codec checker, it found the WinDVD codec and I associated it with Media PLayer. Thanks for all the responses.
