I would have to side with Abit on this one. I have used the AN8 boards in a couple of machines, and they are superb. They have excellent voltage and fan control options as well. I have the Fatal1ty SLi board in my gaming machine, and with all the fan controls, it is pretty quiet at idle. Once I start gaming, the OTES fans will kick in when the Case gets to 40 Degrees. As soon as I stop gaming, the temps come down and the fans stop. The other machines I have built have been lower end Abit boards, but the fan / voltage controls are still there.

Abit also have the Numeric boot codes on the Motherboard, and that has been most helpful in finding out boot issues. Asus are good, but Abit gets my vote for the tuneability of the settings.

    Just my 2p worth.

The data courruption thing was solved ages ago on the NF7-S.
Update your BIOS. There is a setting in there you can change to fix it.
A search on the Abit forums will provide more than enough info

Well, you get the heatpipe chipset cooling on the Abit AN8 Ultra or AN8 SLI.
I don't think that even the AN8 32X has the power system of the ASUS A8N32 (unusually as power circuitry is an area where ASUS boards usually don't shine).

I have the Asus Standard SLI (non-Deluxe/Premium model) and it's stable at 295, haven't messed about too much but I'm sure I can get it stable at 300.

I believe that there were even a few modded BIOSs out there that had the default setting changed to the correct timing - a life saver if you ever forgot it when you reflashed
