SN25P / SN26P – PSU – Graphics

I’m going to be buying a pre-built Shuttle XPC. The company is an authorised Shuttle dealer and builder. 3 of the graphics card setups (amongst many) they offer are:

nVidia GF 7800GTX 512MB (SN25P and SN26P)
ATI Radeon X1900XT 512MB (SN25P and SN26P)
2x Geforce 7800GTX 256MB SLI Configuration (SN26P only)

Now both the SN25P and the SN26P come with a 350 watt power supply, however from manufacturer’s literature:

For 7800 GTX, at least 400W system power supply (with 12V current rating of 26A). For two GeForce 7800 GTX-based graphics cards running in NVIDIA SLI configurations, a minimum 500W system powe supply (with 12V rating of 34A) is recommended.

Power supply notes:
Connection to the system power supply is required:
450-Watt power supply or greater, 30 Amps on 12 volt rail recommended (assumes fully loaded system)

Anyone have any comments on this?

The shuttle PSU's will cope fine. They are really well made and will cope with those specs. The gfx cards have that advice because some people run really nasty psu's.

so jealous of you, i love the look of the sn25p, was gonna go for one of those builds but was urged to go tower instead, regretting it now.

Just to second that you will have no problem.

The Shuttle PSUs are very high quality and their 350W is equivalent to a less good brand's 500W one - hence can cope fine.

You wont have a problem with the x1900XT 512mb

I have a SN25p, x2 4400, 1gb ram, 2 Sata drives, DVD RW, and a X1900XT 512mb, all ticking away fine.
