    what a n00b!

I recieved my shiny new parts from Scan today! as well as my 1gb cruical DDR2 via royal mail (which arrived BEFORE citylink!)

Looked at a few pictures of the A-Bit board (I know i wasnt keen on A-bit but have given them another go..)

assembled all the parts minus hdd, dvd etc..

put in the artic freezer 7pro and went away...

then it powered on.. bleeped a few times and after about 20seconds.. went off...

hmmm touched the arctic freezer pro 7 and the f***ing thing nearly fell off.. im sure id screwed it in properly..

Hopfully the reason for the shutdown would have been the cpu temp.. so i disconnected and reconnected the arctic.. this time making sure it was on quite tight..

assembled it all and got nothing.. just a readout 7f or something.. put a pc speaker in and got the quick beep (VGA Error) wondering if i needed to use the SLI card in normal mode... and it WORKS!

    woot!!

P.S. dont like the look of the LGA775 them pins looked bent..

    Gah!

Ok, see if anyone else knows what i should do..

    Installed XP Pro..
Installed nVidia Chipset drivers SW, Ethernet, IDE

restarted and windows blue bar loading thingy just kept going and going....

rebooted with last known good config, no nic drivers installed so d/l and burnt to dvd from another machine latest drivers...

tried them after uninstalling and rebooting...

    same..

    Think it could be a mis-match with nf4 (Abit Ni8) and a radeon x800GTO?

I did plug a hdd into a motherboard once... when it was turned on and the owner was there at the time...

he just looked at me and said "Looks like I will be having YOUR PC then"

Luckily it just reset CMOS settings...

    Love the Avatar merlin!
