Probably for the same reason he went with a Q-tec PSU - he likes to gamble with his kit and money

Nah, needed a new PSU ages ago when i was short on cash

As for Overclockers, i always use them - what gamble? Fact is if they send something faulty i can return it myself anyway! (Live within 10miles of them)

I think they allow you to pick-up goods from the warehouse, which saves £8 on postage

One of my work collegues bought a Hiper 580W, but reckons it's quite a bit louder than he expected. But apart from that its been great.

I'd have to say go for the Seagate if you want absolute silence.

I've found Overclockers to be fine, and haven't had a problem with postage. I got some great deals from their B-Grade section recently. Had to return one of the items I received, and had no problems again.

    Just a update:

Bought myself a Hiper Type-R 580W, i dont know why you think its loud...compaired to my old Q-Tec its whisper silent!

Out of interest, you know that you plug in the cables that you want to use? instead of plugging them all in ive used the extensions to say power a HDD and a couple of fans, rather than using two cables (that go into the psu) - i assume its ok to this?

Oh, and something else to add on to the Q-Tec hate list!

    1) Burst's into Flames
(new) 2) Causes electromagnetic feild, interfereing with screen!

Hehe, compared to a Q-Tec PSU though, a nuclear explosion's silent!
I concern myself a lot with making my PC silent, so IMHO, the Hiper's aren't that quiet, but for most people, like yourself, they're quite acceptable.
