It's fine as long as you aren't messing about with voltages. Of course it gets a bit fussy on some boards when you try to do that as CnQ also adjusts volts. Note some boards over volt by increasing a certain percentage of the standard, so CnQ still works, but you're always a bit above the set voltage so it's not as effective.

Yup, not something you particularly want to try on an opteron 146 at max overclock

Seems nice, works for intels too. My laptop is running really cool since installing it.

It's still possible I think, but I wouldn't fiddle with the voltage, which means you're limited in how far you can OC.

The only thing that put me off CnQ is if you overclocked to the limit, the sudden change in voltage/corespeed might somehow destabilise the CPU.

If you're running a memory divider the change in CPU multiplier have an effect on memory speed (even 1mhz change on memory could crash systems which are heavily overclocked)

Simply not the case, for me anyway. Using RMClock, here are my presets (all use the 266 RAM divider and the 3x HTT multiplier set in BIOS):

    4 x 280 @ 0.875V = 1120 MHz
    6 x 280 @ 1.1V = 1680 MHz
    8 x 280 @ 1.3V = 2240 MHz
    10 x 280 @ 1.4V = 2800 MHz

My CPU is an Opteron 146 with 1.4V stock Vcore.

The CPU speed ramps up & down using the above settings as required. Because I have only used the 4x, 6x, 8x & 10x multipliers the RAM always sticks at 186.67. Even when I used the 5x & 7x multipliers (which give 175 & 178 on the RAM respectively) I did not experience any stability problems.

I get great overclocking when I need it, and when browsing and such like I get low temperatures. What can be better than that?

The only reason I don't run CnQ is that Papyrus games (motor racing simulations) don't work with it... they tend to go either half or double the speed... Other than that, I'd have no doubts over enabling it.

Try the new AMD dual core optimiser, or the MS hotfix for that kind of (common) problem - that usually fixes it.
