So what i should do then is put the 2 HDs on IDE 1 and my Burner on IDE 2 As it goes i think my PC at present has the HD & Burner on the same channel No wonder its running like a dog So i guess what your saying is i must have a Sata HD rather than 2 Ide's, yes Is it easy to load the sata drivers? I want the build to go as easy as possible

Yh you just hit f10 when loading windows as it mentions whether you would like to install any software before proceeding with the full installation. then you load your sata drivers from the floppy disk and carry on installing windows.

Yeah SATA is easy. Any old floppy disk, placed any old way where you can reach power and data connections are enough. If you would feel better with PATA, 2 PATA HDs on one channel are ok just so you don't need copy between them, or raid them, or in any way use them at the same time. One for programs and one for files is OK.

Thats what i will do then
All i need now is the RAM was thinking of the corsair Value select (pc3200 DDR400) but scans price has now gone up another £10 to £141 so i may as well get 2gb G.skill NT for aprox same as its meant to be Good Ram for this Board!

One thing I forgot about with PATA. If you upgrade again to a newer board it will proably have only 1 channel that is intended for a CD drive. I would reccomend strongly going for a SATA drive. Other than that there is nothing that immediatly comes to mind, enjoy the build!
