    Free evga mainboard "delay"please help

"The pc i am on right now has a 7800gtx by evga

great card, it even came with a free EVGA motherboard with the latest chipset at the time

    so i stuck with it
during installation the mobo was pretty fast

but now... everytime i start my computer up

it just stays on a blue EVGA screen that has always been there but passes in like 1 second

now it just stands there for, oh i don't know, 15 seconds or so

then it carrys on to load the rest....

an suggestions as to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Viruses? Norton? PCI-cards added? Wireless cards?

Could be loads of things- Check your PC is in shape .

    actually its brand new

yes norton is installed, no pci cards or viruses

is norton really that much of a POS, minutely updates needed to be download... now delay on startup?

If the evga screen is where its delaying sounds like hardware at the bios stage. Tried stripping your setup down to see if removing drives, ram sticks etc solves the problem? Also have you flashed the bios recently etc? Might be worth trying a cmos reset, although if you do make sure you know the settings you use and i'm not guaranting that will solve the problem.

Make sure you have Quick POST in the BIOS set to true / enabled

And once you've done that, try just temporarily disconnecting any IDE devices - dodgy hard drives in particular like to slow down the POST as the motherboard detects something's there, but can't quite work out what.
